JTAG an Xbox 360: Protecting your console [Part 6]

The final tutorial for the initial JTAG hack and setup! So your console is now Jtagged - Congrats! In this final tutorial, I'll show you how you can keep it Jtagged and unbanned! This is all optional, but I strongly recommend doing it if you have Jtagged your Xbox 360.

First off, we will bridge 2 points on the underside of the motherboard. Heat up your soldering iron and simply smear the solder of the 2 points together.





 These points are at R6T3 (the efuse). Notice I have done the X-clamp replacement on this board... yours might be covered by the X-clamp if you have not.

The purpose of doing this is simple - In the dashboard updates after the exploitable version, Microsoft "blew" the efuse making it impossible to perform the hack. By bridging the points, the efuse will never be altered. It also prevents any microsoft updates that could harm or alter your system's JTAG mod.

Once you've bridged the 2 points, you're free to boot up your console. Hit the guide button (center button on the controller) and navigate to your family settings. Turn the control on and block Xbox Live access and Xbox Live account creation - you can allow everything else. Tada! No more worrying about accidentally connecting to Live and getting banned!

This will be the final JTAG tutorial for a while. The next one will probably be a short guide on updating your JTAG dash. I'm currently awaiting some new computer parts and I plan on making a tutorial on building a gaming PC! Stay tuned!

    I just read over the entire JTAG thing. Very nicely done. Makes me wish I had a working Xbox still.

    looks interesting, my brother has an 360 however I don't game much.. you should post some tutorials on ways to hack a wii.

    And if you plan to do this take few fried boards and practice soldering on them, you can mess up your console pretty easily if you don't do everything right.
